Dearly beloveds,
Yesterday marked another potent turning point for the collective.
We were graced by a rare black new moon which happens when an additional new moon falls within a single season.
This black new moon in Virgo darkened the sky and carried with it an air of mystery, unknown, and fertile void.
Though the peak of the lunation has passed, its energy still lingers. It calls us forward into a dance with the unseen, inviting us to consciously step into the void.
The new moon in Virgo is a healer’s moon. The healers, the mystics, the esoteric students, the guides are all being called forward by this void. Collectively, we are being asked to release and surrender into this unknown.
With the south node also transiting Virgo, the invitation is to release control, perfectionism, and the need to have all the details figured out. We are asked to loosen our grip so that more divine mystery and ethereal essence can flow into our lives.
This request for surrender is emphasized due to the north node, our collective point of destiny, currently transiting Pisces. Pisces is about spirituality, dissolution, and oneness. It envisions the physical self dissolving into the ocean of the etheric so that we may recognize our mystical, soulful essence and how we are all connected and ultimately one.
In a world heavily focused on the physical, the Virgo-Pisces axis invites us into a deep, dark, nourishing harmony, where earthy roots and flowing waters converge, feeding the dormant lotus of the soul within each and every one of us. Can we find harmony and inner peace between body and spirit, matter and mystery? The answer is yes, but this harmony must first be cultivated within.
Virgo’s essence of discernment, attention, and refinement is reflected in the Hermit, the archetype traditionally associated with this sign in the tarot. The Hermit stands alone, shrouded in darkness, holding a lantern that reveals only the next step ahead. He reminds us that we do not need to see the entire journey and that progress can and often does come from steady, mindful movement. In this way, the Hermit embodies Virgo’s capacity for careful reflection, patience, and meticulous guidance, teaching us to trust our inner light even when much remains unseen.
Chiron, Virgo’s celestial ruler, currently transiting Aries, brings a dynamic, activating energy to our healing journey. Where Virgo focuses on discernment and integration, Chiron in Aries urges us to courageously confront our vulnerabilities and take inspired action to heal ourselves. By tending to our wounds with both discernment and initiative, we can dissolve the illusion of separation, and call forth greater connection, wholeness, and empowerment.
Together, the Hermit and Chiron illuminate the healer’s path, guiding us with a balance of quiet reflection and courageous action. Under this new moon, they invite us to release control, soften perfectionist tendencies, and step fully into a state of flow. The seeds we plant now, in this grounded, patient, and feminine season, will unfold in their own sacred timing.
These intentions will gain even greater power as we move through the portal of eclipse season. This Virgo new moon marks the threshold, to be followed by a lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 7th, and culminating in a solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21st, where our seeds will be illuminated in a mysterious and fated way.
Until then, tend your seeds gently and practice deep, rejuvenating patience. The feminine works in her own mysterious rhythms — trust that she will carry your intentions forward and that they will bloom in the most miraculous of ways.
