Hello wandering souls,
We had a captivating and life altering full moon in Capricorn yesterday. The energy of this full moon is still buzzing all around us even though the moon has already progressed into the sign of Aquarius.
As I was sitting with the energies being brought to the surface by this second full moon in Capricorn, I chose to take additional time to truly digest everything and offer up what I hope to be valuable and enriching insight.
As we know from a tarot perspective, Capricorn rules the devil card. In a reading, the devil card is known to stir up quite a bit of fear. However, the card in of itself can have an empowering meaning if we can be brave enough to look straight into the devil’s eyes.
Though this archetype is often misunderstood and feared, he stands as a symbol of freedom and soul liberation, but only if we dare. The devil requires tremendous courage for we might not always like what we see or feel ready for what he has to reveal.
You see, the devil is a walking paradox. In the traditional devil card, we see a devil often accompanied by other beings in chains. We assume that the devil has led these souls into temptation and that they now belong to him. But what if, under this full moon, another narrative was offered?
What if, instead of leading these souls into temptation, the devil was their guide, showing to them where they are not yet free and where they are actually the ones leading themselves into their own temptation? What if the devil was a friend seeking our liberation and freedom, but first we had to conquer and face our own inner devil?
Devil energy can be synonymous with shadow energy, representing the darker aspects of ourselves that we have yet to confront. Each and every one of us has shadows, and the devil can be a gateway to these unacknowledged parts of our psyche. Initially, the devil archetype may seem frightening, but when we choose to face this fear with courage, we can open a different path; a path towards freedom and self-liberation.
I sense that this is the main theme of this full moon; while devilish energy may still be afoot, we can choose to see it as an invitation to embark upon a inner journey, an inner journey revealing where we are not yet free.
Though this journey may reveal countless times in which we experienced grief, pain and trauma that we have yet to unpack, process and ultimately release, we have the grace and luminosity of the full moon supporting us, loving us as we gently begin to unravel and heal these remaining shadows.
And we have Capricorn. Capricorn is not for the spineless; empowered Capricornian energy is fierce, ambitious and above all, rooted in self-discipline and self-responsibility. These aspects of our psyche are being illuminated and activated. It is through Capricorn energy that we can find our salvation.
And so, this full moon is illuminating all the ways in which we are still chaining ourselves down and holding back our potential. It is showing us where we are snuffing out our light and letting our shadows dance and take over.
The devil is asking; will you be brave enough to explore these chains and see that they are in fact illusions and deep down, a fabrication of your own imagination? Or will you continue to hold yourself down, playing it safe, remaining small?
With this being the second full moon in Capricorn of the season, these energies are amplified. We are ready to release these chains. We are ready to step into our potential. We are ready to shine.
But first, we must grieve. We must process. We must feel for full moons are all about releasing, shedding and letting go. With this, grief, pain and loss are unavoidable and more often than not, companions of full moons.
And so, even though this full moon has initiated us into a more empowered way of being, we can’t help but feel some heavier emotions.
The full moon has passed, granted. We have changed and we have released, and yet some denser emotions might still be lingering. This is where we must show ourselves grace and compassion; our old self is in fact dead, never to return for we have closed out a big karmic cycle, but our new self is still emerging...
This part of the journey can feel disorienting as our sense of self is still being reconfigured. It is a time to be gentle and to move slowly. It is a time to release remaining emotions tying us to the past. It is a time to grieve, cry and let it all go.
We will be ready to rise soon, and when we do, our crown will be waiting.
Until then, we breathe, we trust, for we know our new timeline has arrived.
And so it is….
