Virgo Season~Awakening the Healer Within

Dearest gentle souls,

We have energetically shifted into Virgo season today. Can you feel the change?

We are beginning to end our summer season here in the northern hemisphere and the change in season can already be felt as cooler days have already emerged.

We are saying goodbye to the bright and beautiful energy of Leo season to enter a more introspective, feminine energy.

Virgo, being an earth sign and of the feminine polarity is softly urging us to slow down, take respite and to bring our summer achievements to a fulfilling completion.

Whether you took bold strides forward or simply relished the warmth of the sun, this season has been a journey in its own right. Now, as we reflect on the paths we've traveled, the gentle surge of Chiron’s energy begins to make itself known.

Chiron, also known as the wounded healer, is the ruler of Virgo, and the teacher of all things relating to the healing arts. We are thus entering into a season where profound healing will be at the forefront and available to us.

When I drew cards for the year ahead back in January, we had The Mother archetype coming out as our guiding archetype for Virgo season. And so, themes surrounding the mother will be prevalent over the up coming weeks. We might be encouraged to revisit our relationship with our own mother and how that relationship makes us feel in the now. We might be encouraged to reflect on what motherhood truly means, knowing that it can look different.

To be a mother can resemble displaying motherly traits. This can range from being the most empathetic of mothers, being soft, gentle, attentive, and caring to being more harsh, direct, blunt or maybe somewhere in between. Regardless of the mother energy we have experienced or lack thereof, we all embody the mother archetype within us, irrespective of gender. If we are looking for a tangible manifestation of this energy, we simply need to look at where Cancer sits in our birth chart as Cancer represents the eternal mother.

Setting Cancer energy aside, Virgo offers a distinct form of maternal energy. Often shaped by challenging circumstances, Virgo can embody a more austere and straightforward energy. This rigidity may be deeply present if there are no other aspects in the birth chart to soften it, reflecting Virgo’s sacred mission in this life: to heal oneself.

Being ruled by Chiron, healing is an inevitable theme for Virgos. Those that resist Chiron’s call often display the shadow traits of Virgo such as being rigid, prudish, overly critical and a perfectionist. This is because Virgo energy needs movement. Virgo is a mutable sign and by default, has the imprint of motion and change within their soul. Virgos who remain stubborn and resistant to the frequency of change cut off their life force, potentially missing the opportunity to fully harness their power as profound catalysts for transformation and healing in their own unique way.

Being tied to Pisces, which rules the 12th house of spirituality, mental health, dreams and illusions, Virgo is the necessary grounding medicine. Virgo’s practical approach, that can be strangely inviting and comforting when not energetically blocked, has so much wisdom to offer the collective.

Virgos are destined to walk the path of the healer, learning that effective healing doesn’t always require an active role. We contribute to the collective’s healing simply by being our authentic selves and radiating positive energy into the world.

In fact, the biggest soul lesson that Virgos are here to learn is that they are good enough exactly as they are. When Virgo souls are able to fully love themselves and practice self-acceptance, they can unlock their mutable qualities, shifting effortlessly between the ebb and flows of life here by integrating the dual medicine of their axis. When Virgos learn that they are worthy because of who they are inside, they inherently begin to dance with life, knowing when to flow and when to ground to deepen their roots. This is the magic of Virgo energy.

We all have Virgo and Pisces somewhere in our birth charts and wherever these two zodiac signs sit is where you are meant to initiate, facilitate and ground in healing energy.

With the archetype of the mother surrounding us this season, it is encouraging us to contemplate what this archetype means to us through both a spiritual and healing lens. Metaphorically, what comes to mind when we think of the mother or contemplate healing? Are there any insights springing forward? Taking the time to observe how we are feeling will be vital for the next chapter of growth that is coming our way as we begin the fall season later in October.

Virgo, being a mutable sign, is transitioning us from summer into fall. We are reaping the rewards of summer and looking ahead. What awaits us as we dare to take the plunge into our own healing? What wisdom does our inner Chiron have to share with us at this time?

Spend some time out in nature, sipping warm tea or your favorite drink. Fix your gaze on a body of water or tree and simply allow your vision to blur…What do you see? Maybe there are nature spirits coming forward with a message for you, or maybe you can hear the soft and gentle laughter of water nymphs playing in the stream…. Or maybe its pure stillness. Whatever it is, trust that it is exactly what you need for the next chapter of your journey.

You are being initiated into healing and becoming your own inner mother. You are being asked to revisit the mother-child relationship both in reality and in spirit. Allow your energy to flow and use your discernment when you need to ground and set boundaries.

Healing energy is precious and deserves to be guarded with the utmost care. Do not second guess your worth and move forward with your chin up knowing that you are supported.

Given that Chiron rules Virgo, looking into the relationship between Virgo and its house placement as well as your natal Chiron will be most insightful.

Allow your inner healer to unfurl its wisdom. You are enough.
